Welcome to LeslieSwalley.com!

Longtime Lakewood resident, Leslie Swalley, has announced her candidacy for Lakewood City Council Position 1, the open seat held by retiring council member and former Mayor, Bill Harrison.  Born and raised in Lakewood and a Clover Park HS graduate, Leslie works as Council Assistant to Pierce County Councilmember Dick Muri.

ďThe best leaders offer creative solutions rather than tax increases. Letís preserve our limited tax dollars for increased safety patrols, cleaner lakes, and park facilities while saving citizens time and money with targeted performance audits, expanded on-line permitting, contracting services to local Lakewood businesses, and by reducing government regulations. Lakewood has a wonderful, bright future, and Iím excited about working with citizens from all over our city.Ē

Swalley has earned an AA in Advertising Design, a Bachelor in Marketing / Finance from Gonzaga University, and studied International Business Management and Mandarin Chinese at Thunderbird Graduate School in Glendale, Arizona.

Before returning to her hometown, Swalley worked in Asia and held the positions of Marketing Officer for Thailand Trade and Economic Office, Executive Staff Trainer at AT&T, Lucent, and China Trust Bank, and was chosen to implement the first English Language Program in local Taiwan schools. She served as Vice President of the Spokane Music and Arts Festival in 1989 and volunteers as Communications Director for the Washington Association of Rail Passengers.
